བློན་ཆེན་དང་ལྷན་རྒྱས་གཞུང་ཚོགས་ཡིག་ཚང་།


On the first day in office, the Hon’ble Prime Minister convened a meeting with the Cabinet Ministers. Four Executive Orders and ten directives to various ministries have been issued for expedited implementation.
1. Executive Order on discontinuation of the collection Nu.10 at the Phuntsholing pedestrian terminal with immediate effect.
2. Executive Order on the establishment of the Economic Development Board (EDB), with the first meeting to be held within a month and the Government apprised accordingly.
3. Executive Order on the establishment of a high-level task force to formulate the implementation plan for the 15 Billion Economic Stimulus Plan. The plan is to be submitted to the Government by March 1, 2024.
4. Executive Order on establishment of a committee to study regularization of contract employees. The study report to be submitted to the Government within a period of one month.
5. Directive to the Ministry of Finance for Revision of Tenancy Agreement for residents of Changjiji colony and to formulate plans to develop additional low income housing. The status and report to be submitted by March 1, 2024.
6. Directive to the Ministry of Education and Skills Development to study the viability of Saturdays to be kept off for schools. The Ministry to submit the proposal by March 1, 2024.
7. Directive to the Ministry of Education and Skills Development to review the Individual Work Plan of the teachers and submit alternative proposals to the Government by March 1, 2024.
8. Directive to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment to conduct a comprehensive review of the business regulatory processes to ease the private sector , with the review report to be submitted to the Government by March 1, 2024.
9. Directive to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment to review the Foreign Direct Investment Policy and submit recommendations to the Government by March 1, 2024.
10. Directive to the Ministry of Industry Commerce and Employment for development of a comprehensive Action Plan to increase tourist arrivals, to be submitted to the Government by March 1, 2024.
11. Directive to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment to submit a report with recommendations by March 1, 2024 on promotion of tourism in border towns in the south.
12. Directive to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to conduct an initial feasibility study on construction of five Airstrips in strategic locations across the country. The Ministry to submit the findings of the study by May 1, 2024.
13. Directive to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade to submit a comprehensive proposal on promotion of tourism, using embassies, consuls and honorary consuls, by March 1, 2024, .
After the meeting with the Cabinet Ministers, the Hon’ble Prime Minister met with the Minister and Secretary of the Ministry of Health, and the President of the National Medical Services. Hon’ble Prime Minister also visited Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH), and met the management and employees highlighting the criticality and urgency to ensure effective and reliable services at the JDWNRH. Following the visit, the Hon’ble Prime Minister issued directives to the Minister of Health to submit a set of recommendations to ensure service quality and reliability by February 6, 2024.
