We would like to update everyone that more than 6,600 samples were collected from across the country as of 6.30pm tonight.
This is following the enforcement of “blackout” period in the 14 districts earlier today, after the detection of a community case in Wangduephodrang. The sample collection will continue until 9pm tonight and well into tomorrow, with over 13,000 individuals having moved out of Wangduephodrang since January 10.
Meanwhile, the analysis of the samples is underway in all the COVID-19 testing centres. We will be able to determine the blackout status and relaxation measures only after the results and substantial evidence.
Further announcement will be made as soon as possible.
