As the mass COVID-19 testing in Thimphu extends to Core 2 mega-zone today, the health teams have collected about 7,380 samples until this afternoon.

From the South mega-zone that was covered yesterday, 5,661 samples were collected of which three tested positive. The positive clusters are being secured on the ground, and contact tracing and further surveillance are underway.

In this regard, the existing practice of movement within the respective mega-zone will continue until the mass screening of all other mega-zones are complete for the progressive opening. One representative from every household is being tested for a comprehensive epidemiological scenario.
