Lyonchhen Dr Lotay Tshering met the 40 De-suups at the COVID-19 vaccination registration Helpdesk who are working the phones to reach out to the residence of Thimphu, as the nation gears for the roll-out soon.
Lyonchhen elaborated answers to some of the “frequently asked questions” to empower the De-suups with information that will help clarify doubts of the people they exchange calls with.
The Helpdesk located at the NRDCL hall was activated today, after an intensive training over the weekend. It supports only outgoing calls, purely focusing on registration and issues circling it. More than 360,000 individuals have registered so far.
The De-suups were also reminded that as educated member of the society, they must stress on the difference between facts and opinion. He said very often, opinions deprived of evidence lead to decisions that do not help our people.
Lyonchhen also reiterated that the risk of COVID-19 has not reduced and in fact, with the new variants overseas proving to be more aggressive, the danger looms heavier.
Meanwhile, Public Service Call Centre 1010 has started receiving calls to facilitate registration for vaccination. Series of programs and activities will be carried over the weeks to help people understand the advantages of the vaccination.
