On November 7, 2018, His Majesty The King conferred dakyen to the Prime Minister and ministers of the third democratically elected government.
Later that day, they took the oath of allegiance and secrecy and formally assumed office.
This marked the beginning of a new chapter in Bhutan’s democratic journey. A party that was nei- ther in the government nor in opposition took centre stage. They promised change, to narrow the gap, overhaul health and education.
One year hence, it is time to pause and reflect on what has transpired so far.
